Investigation of Web Hole Effects on Capacities of Cold-Formed Steel Channel Members

Abstract Cold-formed steel structures have been widely applied in structural buildings with advantages manufacturing, transportation and assembly. Holes can be pre-punched the sectional members to allow technical pipes go throughout such as electricity, water or ventilation. This affects capacities of these which considered design standards America Australia/New Zealand. The paper, therefore, investigates effects web holes on cold-formed channel under compression bending. Their determined according American Specification AISI S100-16. investigated results are base for analysing hole dimensions behaviors members. It was found that capacity reductions were obtained compressive increase sizes, but flexural noticeable heights.
